What Causes A Dull Headache?

Hello, I take Thyroid medication. They increased from 150 to 175 about 8wks ago. Had a blood draw yesterday waiting on results. I also take hi blood pressure meds. She just increased from 20mg of Bencair to 40 mg a day. My blood pressure was elevated. It has been very stressful at work . I seem to have this dull headache and was wondering what would cause that? I am not one to get headaches. Thank you Jo

Hello,

The most common cause of these "dull" headaches as you describe them would be a tension type headache. It is the most common type of headache and is often triggered or exacerbated by stress and anxiety, so your work related stress would be a likely contributor. Usually it is relieved by Ibuprofen.

The other possibility would be the high blood pressure values you mention to have had, it is another common cause of headache. In that case the increase in medication dose should help. I remain at your disposal for other questions.
