Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a fast heart rate and heart palpitations and I am hypothyroid (only because I had a partial thyroidectomy because I had a goiter - no cancer). I ve been to a cardiologist and had several tests -- He said my heart is fine and blamed my fast heart rate/palps on my thyroid. My endo doesn t think it has anything to do with my thyroid. Help!!!
Hyperthyroidism can cause rapid heart rate( not hypo). Sometimes the rapid beats can be transient and it will return to normal without any treatment. Medical attention is requires only in case of persistently high heart rates. Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety as these can cause pumping heart rates .
Hope I have answered your query.
