Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 year old was just diagnosed with a heart murmur today. Could this be caused by going in a hot tub for about 20 minutes after a cold pool? I now know this is bad for a 2 year old and will never do it again but could this have anything to do with developing a murmur?
Sometimes temperatures change can cause arrhythmia which usually don't cause murmur. Most probably your child might have small hole in heart which might not require any treatment. The best thing is you see your nearby cardiologist and get a 2D echo done.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Lingamurthy Itha, Pediatrician
