What Causes A Itchy Bumpy Leathery Patch On The Knee?
I have a very itchy bumpy leathery patch on my knee that started about a week ago with a single bump, like a mosquito bite. I used to get bad poison ivy as a kid, then had a shot and no poison ivy in 30 years, but this reminds me of it. Have not been exposed to poison ivy either.
Hi. As per your case history you are having eczematization on knee. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesion twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, emollient cream, clobetasol cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
