What Causes A Lump On The Head Of A Child After A Fall?

17 month old daughter fell 4 days ago off of the couch and hit her head on the corner of the table. She had a large lump on the left side of her head and dr. Said that it would probably go away and she may have black eye. But now the lump seems bigger and soft/puffy when you tough it. Is this normal?

hello
i have gone through your query.was there any signs like continuous crying, vomiting more than once, unable to respond to you, balance difficulties when trying to walk or sit. in the the next 36 to 48 hours.if any of these symptoms develops that could indicate a head injury.then you have to go to doctor. otherwise swelling that may appear after a head blow is the result of the scalp's veins leaking fluid or blood into (and under) the scalp. It may take days or even a week to disappear.
hope this ans helps

Regards
