What Causes A Mobile And Swollen Lump Under The Chin?
Hi, Ive got a swollen gland near my windpipe under my chin and have a mouth ulcer under my touge, I had sickness and achy upper body at the weekend but this has now gone, is the lump something to worry about? Its hard and the size of a pea and moves but is sore when pressed
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain a mobile, tender lump under the chin with a recent history of illness can be an inflamed lymph node leading to Reactionary Lymphadenopathy secondary to infection.. The swelling of lymph nodes gets resolved gradually and can persist for a longer duration as compared to the symptoms of infection.. You should not worry as it does not look like anything serious like Lymphoma and can take a short course of antibiotics and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and do cool compresses over the swelling.. In case if still the swelling does not regress in 2 weeks get an FNAC/Biopsy done to rule out the exact cause of the lymphadenopathy and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
