About a week ago my right ear gets plugged usually at noon every day, it last around 30 min trying to get normal, I listen a muffling sound, like the same pressure when I am in an airplane. Should I be concerned about this? It is the first time I am having issues with my ears. I am 33 years old, healthy so far. Thank you!
Noted your short and specific history of muffled sound in a plugged ear off and on. The causes can be as follows:
* Impacted but a bit loose wax in the affected ear.
* Eustachian tube dysfunction, usually due to primary pathology in the nose like rhinitis, sinusitis.
* Sudden changes in room temperature or so also can cause similar feeling
Hence I would advise you the following:
* Consult an ENT Surgeon as proper diagnosis is the key to successful treatment.
* Use nasal decongestants and anti-inflammatory medications.
* Do not instill anything in ear unless advised so.
* Do not blow nose.
* Avoid sudden temperature changes.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
