What Causes A Painful Burning Sensation On The Upper Right Side Of The Chest?

I ve been having pain in my upper right side, underneath my ribs for about 8 weeks. It burns sometimes and other times it s a sharp pain. I feel it most when I am relaxed. I have an apt to see my general, but it s not until the middle of December. Thoughts?
