What Causes A Painful Rash On The Vagina After A Miscarriage?
I just had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago an every since I been getting this burn looking rash in between the thigh an vaginia. I hurts so bad an i have to walk all day at work an wair scrubs so I never really have time to air it out.... what could be causing this an what can help prevent it?
Thank you for the question and I am happy to help.
While I do not have all of the details surrounding the miscarriage, assuming that you might have had a D&C procedure to empty the uterus, it is not uncommon to receive antibiotics with these procedures. If this was the case, then the most likely explanation is related to a vulvar yeast infection. This would cause red, irritated and painful skin that can involve the vulvar area and spread even to the buttocks. You can treat it with over the counter anti-fungal cream and make sure you get back into your doctor to have an exam.
I hope that this helps and good luck! Dr. Tim
