What Causes A Patch Of Grey/white Hair On Forehead?
Hello! People always ask me why I have a patch of gray/white hair on my forehead and I don t know why I have it; I m 19 years and old and it has been noticeable for about 4 or 5 years now. I read that this is called poliosis but didn t see much which explained how I got this, other than that it is usually hereditary. Nobody in my family has dealt with this, so I don t think it is hereditary. I also have major depression and bipolar disorder, so I was wondering if this were possibly a stress-induced issue. Thank you! - Luke
Poliosis is a feature of some genetic diseases like piebaldism, Woolf syndrome, tuberous sclerosis etc but there are other signs and symptoms of these diseases. Sometimes it is associated with vitiligo. However if you don't have such problems you don't need any treatment.
