Hi, I am a 22 year old female and lately I have been noticing on the left side of my tongue towards the front, a little patch in which it looks like my tongue was either scraped or burnt. Usually when I drink soda it sometimes has the feeling as if it was burned and hours later I can still feel it. What could this possibly be from?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have an inflamed area over the tongue and in case if it is only after drinking soda it can be due to allergic reaction or irritation of the tongue tip with soda and in case if it occurs otherwise also it can be due to deficiency of Vitamin B12, acid reflux, physicl injury etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can apply a numbing gel over the inflamed area, do warm saline gargles, avoid hot and spicy food and take a multivitamin tablet daily..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
