My husband has a pimple like spot on the upper right side of his chest and he just noticed last night that it is a little sore and it also has a dark round circle around the area as big has a baseball and it has a knot or lump under the skin. I made he a doctors appt with his primary dr today for Thursday, 2/17 because that is all they had open. What could this be? And do you think this can wait until Thursday ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pimple like spot on the chest which occur because skin clogging by dead skin and bacteria leads to formation of pus in that and due to impaired immunity of body. It could be keloid and hair follicle infection. I would suggest you to wash your chest area daily with lukewarm water and body wash containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelaic acid which is good for pimples. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like minocyclin, steroid ointment and may recommend chemical peeling. You should drink plenty of fluids and avoid oily, sharp and greasy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
