What Causes A Purple Line Between The Buttocks?

So I noticed that I have a dark purplish colored line between my buttcheeks. I was wondering what it was and what potentially caused it? From what I have read there is a myth used that a dark purple line between the cheeks can determine how much a women is dilated during pregnancy. However I am not pregnant and even if I was I would be no where near giving birth.
