What Causes A Random Cluster Of Bruises On The Inner Thighs?

a few days ago a random cluster of bruises appeared on my inner thigh. I know that there hasn't been any trauma to cause the bruising.
the individual bruises are fingerprint size and range in colour, the worst being very dark and purple, and cover an area of approx 4 inches across
