Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
White raised rash at IV site; IV has been out for 1 1/2 weeks and it developed several days after; the IV was for calcuim deficiency after my thyroid was removed and the pharathyroids decided to stop working. It started with one raised bump now there are four. should I be concerned or just let it run its course; over the counter antibiotics and other creams have not worke.
The raised bump may be due to venous puncture lead to oozing blood onto intestinal space lead to swelling. Apply pressure at the swelling site.
If already swelling is there means it may take few weeks to recover from the swelling don't worry. Use a compression bandage. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
