What Causes A Red And Inflamed Bump Near The Upper Lip?

Hi. About two months ago I noticed two tiny hard bumps under my skin near my upper lip. I thought nothing of it because I often get pimples near my lips due to lip gloss. A month later the one bump became swollen and red and inflamed. I began to panic because it was bigger than any pimple I've had near my lip. It became big and red but did not burst, or ooze. My symptoms remained the same, it stated swollen and large for about 4 weeks. It didn't itch and before it became swollen it did not tingle or burn, but like I said I could feel it under my skin for a month. I "popped" the second "bump" that was user my skin and the usual hard puss stuff came out and it never back of anything. The bump eventually went Away, but I could still feel it slightly under my skin. A week after it became unnoticeable, it became swollen again. Now a week later (this has Literally been over a moth with it now) it isn't nearly as bad as it was the first time it Became inflamed. Do you Think this is a cold sore? I have never had one before and am prone to pimples near My Lips, by typically not This bad.
