Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I have a large nonmobile, red, painful lump below my ear and jaw line, that is getting bigger by the hour, the er doctor said that i had strep in my blood is this the cause of my redhot painful lump?
Mon-mobile. red, painful lump below ear and jawline that is getting bigger and the Doctor suggesting for a diagnosis of strep in blood can be due to the following reasons: - Fast growing lump in such a situation may be due to blocked salivary gland duct with secondary infection. - Can be a lymph node infection turned into an abscess. - In fact the infection causing the lump can spread to blood and causing general symptoms of malaise, fever, body ache and so on, - Watch for sweating and chill. I would advise you the following in such a situation: - Get started on proper antibiotic course as would be prescribed by your Doctor. - Anti-inflammatory with painkiller properties. - Get investigated for blood and urine tests. - Complete the courses till cured to avoid recurrence.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
