What Causes A Round Purple Bruise On The Elbow In An Osteoporosis Patient?

I noticed a perfectly round purple bruise on one elbow this morning, with slight bruising on the other one. I haven t fallen or knocked them. No pain, just a circular bruise. What might cause this? FYI, I am a 61 year old female with osteoporsis in my hips. Thanks,

Hello,

The sudden appearance of a bruise without any history of injury in the area can happen due to a bleeding disorder or an autoimmune problem. You need to have a few blood investigations to find the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
