What Causes A Shaking/twitching In The Stitched Part In The Thumb?

I cut the tip of my thumb off 8 days ago. I got seven stitches and just got them taken out today. For the past 5-6 days, my thumb has been shaking/twitching. It is controllable to an extent but I often find start to shake and sometimes have to physically hold it to make it stop. What is wrong with it?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not common but happens sometimes with some patients. Don't worry. It usually settles down in due course of time. Continue physiotherapy. I am sure it will settle down.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirmal Chander Gupta, Orthopaedic Surgeon
