Hi there, I'm sorry to bother you but I need my mind putting to rest. I have what looks like a skin tag on the right hand side of my tongue. It started off quite small when it appeared a few years ago, and when I went to the doctors they didn't seem too worried about it. Now around 2 years on, I have become aware of it again and am sure it is slightly bigger and redder. It is not tender unless I press on it. Shall I simply get it checked to be sure? Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a skin tag like structure over the tongue can be a fibrous tissue overgrowth knon as a Fibroma or it can also be an arterio venous Malformation causing Hemangioma.. It can also be a chronically overgrown Papillae.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and a biopsy can help on diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
