What Causes A Small Boil On The Tailbone?

My Husband had got a small boil like thing in the end of his tail bone, exactly between the buttocks. This would pain immesnly and there was some smelly discharge.

We visited an ortho doctor and he diagnosed it to be sinus and treated him. He was cured.

This recurred within 2 months again.

The same treatment was repeated and he was cured again. But the doctor advised us to consult a GI and get a small surgery done.

My husband was cured and we did not care to pursue it with different doctors.

Now after a year almost the same thing has reoccured. Please let us know what to do and is this a neuro problem?which is the doc we should see?

Apart from this problem, there is another problem in faced in this one year of time span. He use to get one boil at a time but that was very painful and lots of pus would accumalte. The docs diagnosed it as "Staph" Infection and told that it has also infected his blood stream.

Now, both of us are very confsed as to wat doctor to get in touch with and how to get rid of this infection, whatever it is.

Regards.
