What Causes A Small Red Bump Close To The Top Lip?

My baby has a single small red bump close to his top lip, me nor his father has any std or herpies. We don t allow any one to kiss him and its gotton pretty hot where we live. I m just a concerned mother that hopes its really nothing wrong. Please help!!!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a small single bump close to the top lip of your baby needs not necessarily to be a STD or herpes and can be a common insect bite or a hair follicle infection..
You need not to worry as it can get resolved on its own without bothering your baby..
You can however apply an antiseptic ointment over the bump and do cool compresses.
Keep the area clean and dry..
Avoid touching it again and again as it can lead to spreading of infection..
In case if the number of bums increases of it the present bump becomes painful or increase in size you can consult a Paediatrician and get evaluated and he can examine it and treat according to the diagnosis..
As of now you need not to worry as nothing seems serious..
