What Causes A Smell Of Metallic Or Blood From Nose?

For the past 3 or 4 months I have been getting a very metallic almost blood like smell in my nose. I don t taste anything metallic or blood related. It comes and goes but when i do get it it stays from between a few mins to a few hours. As of right now I can smell it and it has been on going today for the past few hours. At this point its more annoying than anything, it masks the smells of other things almost completely.

This sounds like a chronic sinusitis--sinus infection--problem.

Were I your doctor, I would get a ct scan of your sinuses and prescribe a two week course of antibiotics like Cipro or Augmentin
