Hi I am a 40 year old woman. I have had what looked like an under skin spot on the back of my neck right on top of my spine just above the hair line for the past 2 years. The spot has changed in size a few times but over the past 6 months it has got bigger approx 1.5 cm in diameter and become fatter. It looks like a boil now and has started becoming painful to touch. Also it looks as if it may be developing a head. I had it checked by two GPs last year and they both diagnosed fatty deposit at the roots of the hair. I am now concerned whether this may be something else. Can you please advise.
