What Causes A String Like Substance In The Vagina?
My boyfriend noticed a red thing, that looked someone like a string while we were having sexual intercourse. At first he thought it was blood but noticed it was connected to the inside of my vagina and kept going in and out. He described it as a red bloody string that was hanging out of my vagina. I do not get my period for another few weeks. Any ideas what this could have been?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. If the string like substance is attached from inside of vagina then it can be a cervical or vaginal polyp. But if it is coming from inside then it can be remains of degenerated myoma or even a miscarriage. So a pelvic examination by a gynecologist and an ultrasound examination also might be needed to rule out that.If it is a polyp then it can be excised surgically and send for histopathology examination. But if it is miscarriage then dilation and curettage might be required.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query. Thanks.
