What Causes A Sudden Drop In Thyroid Count?

My 80 yr old mother takes dialysis 3 X a wk for approx. 3 hrs. just recently she is having pus in her urine and says it hurts real bad to go to the bathroom and sometimes she feels like she needs to go but can't. Also her heart dr. said her thyroid was 11.2 & when she went to primary care dr., he said her thyroid count was low. now she's on medication for low thyroid. so how can the count go down within 48 hrs.?

Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Pus in the urine or Piuria is a condition characterized by excessive pus cells in the urine and is an early sign of kidney, bladder, and urinary tract problems. Pus consists of bacteria, dead white blood cells, and other cellular matter, and it is a symptom of infection. So my advice is to meet your nephrologist for the right treatement of piuria.

At the other side i suggets to meet an endocrinologist because you need to do the thyroid test TSH,freeT3 and free T4 to understand the thyroid function and an thyroid ultrasound to see the thyroid structure.Than the doctor will reach the right diagnose and will be able to adjust the dose of Levothyroxine(the low thyroid medication).

I think that the thyroid problem is not appeared in 48 hours, now it is diagnosed and is under treatement.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Wish you good health.
