Hi,
Noted the history of having a bump in mouth for over many months, smoker, some pain at the bump and tooth nearby, worried if it is cancer.
If you would have posted the photos and given history about whether the bump enlarges during salivation like chewing, this would have helped a lot.
Well, this can be due to the following reasons:
Stone in the submandibular
salivary gland.
Cancer should be ruled by
biopsy only and added on by
CT scan or so since blood tests are not indicative of cancer in mouth cancer cases.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper palpation of the bump, clinical evaluation and investigations to tell you the most probable reason.
Once a proper diagnosis is made then it is possible to have proper management as per the cause found and have effective management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
