What Causes A Swollen Left Testicle After A Cancerous Prostate Removal?

I have had an enlarged left testicle since birth with no problems whatever. I am 72 years old. Nov 9 I had a cancerous prostate removed and some lymph nodes removed. Margins were good and no cancer in nodes. But my left testicle is larger than normal and hurts when I stand. Could blood from the surgery have gotten in the testicle? what is treatment. merle

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The swollen left testis indicates possible orchitis from various reasons as bacterial infection or else (not because of blood from the surgery).
I recommend to take a complete blood count report with Doppler ultrasound of the testis for final diagnosis and further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
