What Causes A Tender Mass Below The Coccyx?

I have a mass below my tailbone. I haven t fallen or had any trauma there. But it s swollen and warm to the touch. It s very tender to the touch.I was scratching it and noticed there was blood under my nails and it s bleeding. Do you know what it is?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having traumatic swelling on tail bone.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
