What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Diarrhea After Having Food?

I have been experiencing intestinal discomfort for a couple of month and have gone to the doctor, but there was no diagnostic. My symptoms are after eating, usually, about 2 or 3 hours I feel a discomfort, possibly a little bloating and then I go to the bathroom and I explode in the toilet and a very soft movement comes out. I can not always tell when it is going to happen, because it comes on fairly quick. I seldom urinate without having this happen. Sometimes in the middle of the night I will urinate normal. I am 75 years old and have diabetes and I am taking metformin 2 500mg in the morning. I am also on Venlafaxine one 150mg and one 75mg and I take them at night for depression. The other meds are atorvastatin 10mg 1, meloxicam 15mg 1, and valsartan 80 mg 2 dailyone morning and one evening. I also take some over the counter vitamins. Could this be Irritable Bowel symdrome, if so what can I do for it?

Hi and Welcome to 'Ask a Doctor ' service . I have read your question and here is my advice .
There could be so many reasons for your this problems the drugs like Metfromen, Meloxicam , Venalfaxine , all of this can cause dyspepsia ,
beside this your diabetes can cause gastroperesis which more resembles your symptoms ,
peptic ulcer disease can also present the same way .
We must not take it (atleast at the moment ) as IBS for many reasons, that is the age, the onset is late, third the symptoms do not classically appears to be like that , fourth we have so many obvious reason to rue out first before calling it IBS , Venalfaxine would have helped if it would have been IBS . So do not assume it IBS until all other possible causes are ruled out . I would suggest you can use some anta-acid and then see a gastroentralogist to fix your problem

hopes this clears your mind , I would be happy to answer if your have any thing else to ask in this regards.
I find this answer helpful
