Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For roughly a month now I have had cramps while pooping. The cramps are not in my stomach, but much lower, just below where I cramp during my period. I am not constipated at all, not gaining or losing weight, no significant changes in my eating habits, not overweight or underweight. However, the cramps are paralyzing for a couple of minutes, then fade. This happens 3-4 times/day.
The possible causes are bowel infection with parasites or bacillary, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel problems may present episodic, acute cholecystitis or stones in gallbladder may present episodic, bowel obstruction may be episodic.
Please avoid spicy food and fried food. Until examination it is difficult to say what it is, please consult your surgeon, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
