What Causes Abdominal Pain After A Gallbladder Removal Surgery?

I have had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago and have now developed a severe constant pain to the left side of my belly button which does not ease with pain relief. The pain is more intense when standing or sitting than when laying down, food consumption does not make any difference to the pain. I am also struggling with bowel movements only going once every 3 days, prior to the removal every morning was regular. My stomach is very swollen but my wounds are healing nicely. Is this normal post surgery or should I be making an appointment to see my gp?

Hello and welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have read your query regarding post operative pain.

* As per the symptoms evaluation, this sounds to be due to altered
electrolyte imbalance, motility related issue or others.
* As analgesic is not helping, I recommend to immediately consult your
surgeon rather than GP.

Wish you fine recovery.
