I had a sudden onset of diarrhea 3 weeks ago. I thought it was due to spicy food I ate over 4th of July weekend. But 3 days later, I could only digest toast and a banana. I contacted my medical dr and he said sounds like I have same symptoms as stomach flu, although I was not vomiting, just diarrhea after eating. Then a couple days later, I ended up in the ER because I ate something other than toast and banana, and as soon as it hit my stomach, I was doubled over in excruciating pain. It was like someone punched me in the gut. No heartburn or burning feeling of any kind, just sharp pain in my stomach. Was having trouble breathing and pain was so bad in my upper abdomen that I could barely move. CT scan showed nothing; endoscopy supposedly shows no bacteria, ulcer, or cancer. But after 3 weeks, the only thing that stays in my stomach is bread. If I eat ANYTHING else, within 5 minutes of eating, it turns to diarrhea. Have you ever heard of this??? What is this?? I m so frustrated! This is not normal to only be able to eat bread and water!
