What Causes Abdominal Pain And Stomach Bloating After Being Treated For Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy two weeks ago in a week and a half later I started having abdominal pain and symptoms of my previously diagnosed hiatal hernia. Severe acid reflex combined with bloating and pain. I threw up (projectile) finally after a horrible night. That was Thursday night. I have been very carefull what I eat but still have reflux and abdominal pain. I have been taking Omeprazole. But should I be concerned about infection?

After colonoscopy abdominal discomfort and distension usually lasts for 12 to 24 hours as your doctor would have put some air inside the colon during the procedure. And it subsides after you pass the flatus. You seem to have acute reflux symptoms. You can take omeprazole twice daily and combine with a prokinetic drug like domperidone or metochlorpramide. I dont think you need to worry about infection unless you have associated loose stools or fever.
