Hello,
Pain during ovulation is often reporting in women. It is thought to release of ova along with which some blood and fluid also comes out and irritates the lining of the organs in the lower abdomen. It is usually one-sided. It responds to simple oral pain relief like
paracetamol or Ibuprofen (if you are not asthmatic or allergic to it).
As you have already seen by a gynecologist and he reports something inside the uterus, then we need to seek what it is. In absence of a positive pregnancy test - the possibilities are products of
miscarriage retain inside womb after miscarriage or fibroid uterus.
Endometriosis is another reason when cyclical pain can experience.
I suggest getting a thorough workup done, which should include internal gynae examination, swabs to look for infections and basic blood tests to establish base levels of
hemoglobin and blood counts. A
transvaginal ultrasound will give a good idea of any pathology inside uterus or ovaries. Getting a routine examination of urine and stool can help exclude the underlying cause in these aspects of the body. If there associate symptoms such as needing to go for urination more often, burning when passing urine or irregular bowel.
If the first line of tests and investigations does not reveal the underlying cause and symptoms of pain persist, despite an empirical course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory pain killers, then I would suggest considering
laparoscopy +/-
hysteroscopy - (camera check inside abdomen and uterus respectively), in consultation with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sabina Hussain
