What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Right Side?

Lately I have been having pain in my right side roughly where the liver is located according to what I have read. I am a drinker of alcohol, but don t consider myself a drunk. I have had a physical in the last year and everything tested normal except my vitamin D level and being pre diabetic. Any thoughts on the belly pain. At first I thought maybe I pulled a muscle.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Alcoholics are more prone to gastritis, hepatitis or alcoholic liver disease etc.

Right hypocondrium pain is possible with alcoholic hepatitis or gastritis or cholicystitis or right renal calculi etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid alcohol intake, use tablet Pantoprazole.

If symptoms not improved, please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
