What Causes Abdominal Pain While Inserting Tampon?
Hello. I have incredible list abdomen pain when I m in the process of trying to insert a tampon. It s almost as bad as contractions. Feels like my muscles are tightening up & then contracting & it s really starting to scare me & worry me. Do you know what could be going on?
I can understand your concern. Did you try using a smaller size tampon? The pain could be just too big a tampon than the size of the vaginal entrance and so you have to push it in harder causing blunt trauma in the area followed by pain and contraction reaction from your body. It is also possible that you may have an extra hymen-like tissue in the area interfering with the insertion of tampon. It may require a gynecologist's attention for resolving the problem.
In addition, it is also possible that because of bad experiences once or twice, now every time when it comes to insertion of tampon, you start feeling anxious and tensed. This causes your vaginal muscles to contract even more and close the opening demanding even more pressure from you for insertion resulting in more pain and contraction. In that case, you can switch to pad for a few months and give yourself some time to calm down and be ready for tampon again.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMaic for your concern. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
