What Causes Abdominal Pain While On Nexplanon Implant?

my daughter received the nexplanon implant at the age of 14, she has begun complaining of abdominal pain, chest pains, headache, running fevers, complaining of pains along her ovaries along the front part of her lower frontal area, tenderness on her breast. after reading up on the side effects of the implant, we were curious if this may be something to worry about. We have been taking her into the hospital, ruled out cancer, heart disease, ulcer s, Dr s cannot find anything that would be causing all her pain, she s even gone through a CT scan which resulted negative. she s 15 now, and her pains are only getting worse.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nexplanon can lead to hormonal imbalance which can lead to such symptoms. Moreover, if all the reports are negative, there is unlikely to be any pathology and hence no reason to worry. She can get her nexplanon removed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
