Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was submitted to a laparoscopy cholecistectomy couple of weeks ago since what I started to feel abdominal pain, two episodes of stool bleeding and right now yeallow scleras. I didnt have get answers from my doctor who´s travellig for while. What does it seems to be ? Best regards,
Based upon these symptoms, I highly suggest a revisit to the Doctor as soon as possible. Yellow Scleras are indicative of Jaundice, this being Bilirubin buildup which is ordinarily cleared by the kidney. If there is a Liver malfunction, that could be from a blockage of the bile duct involving either surgery and or further pathology. Also very serious are these episodes of blood per stool. Whenever you present with these symptoms you must get a checkup as it can be a number of things which are very serious: (i.e. bowel ischemia, cancer, bowel laceration and or internal bleeding). Please as soon as possible schedule a meeting with a gastroenterologist and or surgeon, and if you are so prudent I may even suggest a visit to the Emergency Services as to better address where the blood is coming from, and if it is an ongoing bleed.
