What Causes Abnormal PAP Results, Period Pains, Discharges After A Contraceptive Implant?
Hello, I have given birth four months ago to a lovely healthy boy. My six week health check was fine. Five weeks ago I had the rod inserted in my arm for contraception. Two weeks ago I received my first pap smear and tests came back abnormal. Last week I had taken a pregnancy test to confirm as advised by my gp which was negative. I have now had my period for the first time since the rod was placed in my arm and I had terrible pains slightly worse than normal and had a grey lump/tissue come out during my period. Any ideas please?.
Since the pregnancy test was negative a week ago, miscarriage is unlikely. The lump you noticed must be collection of mucus with sloughed off endometrium.
If you notice any pain or yellow/green discharge. bad odor occurring, then follow up with your doctor to rule out pelvic infection.
Also, follow up with your ObGyn for further management of the abnormal pap results and also get HPV testing done, if not already.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
