At 5 -6 weeks pregnant, ultrasound showed 2 pregnancies. Next ultrasound at 10 weeks only showed 1. Thus, assumed the other pregnancy re-absorbed, AFP numbers added up to possibly 2 babies. Healthy pregnancy to term with C-section delivery of 1 healthy baby... A lot of pain ---unusually amount as I was used to C-section....usually up on feet in 1 day at home. At 2 weeks post partum, still a lot of pain and stitch line ripped open with staph infection. *This explained pain and antibiotics fixed it. However, bleeding never subsided and was blamed on baby not breast feeding routing enough and possibly hormones fluctuating was making me bleed. No labs done to confirm. 2 years later, still bleeding, some clots and anemic. Went to doctor, got iron, ultra sound, labs and biopsy in office. All tests normal except anemia. Ultrasound shows something 5.1 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm. It has now been 2 months on iron supplement. Normal period lasting 5 days occasional clot....but if I push...a little fresh blood comes out. This happens over the next 10 days and then disappears. All normal. Each month has gotten better. Currently on my way to 3rd period...but doctor is saying it is fibroid and must remove. My question: Ultrasound says possible large submucosal mass....But if it was a fibroid then why would the onset be the birth...and why would blood improve, less clots and * no blood after day 15.? Could this be the 2nd pregnancy that they thought re-absorbed? Maybe it tried and didn t completely? My 3rd preg. had a double and I miscarried the double and kept the healthy baby at 3 months. Could this be it?
