Hi, I have gone through your question. High blood pressure at young age with cysts in the kidneys is suggestive of the fact that you are having Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney disease(ADPKD) which is a genetic disease. In this, person suffers from hypertension which is controlled on medication.Women with this disease have increased blood pressure during pregnancy also and it may lead to complications like growth restriction of the fetus, placental abruption and sudden intrauterine death, preterm delivery due to uncontrolled blood pressure, seizures if there is superimposed eclampsia. I would suggest you to consult a nephrologist/ urologist and an OBGYN specialist to get your blood pressure controlled before planning conception, and close monitoring throughout the pregnancy and intervention as required. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr Deepti Verma
