What Causes Abscess Type Sores On Throat And Cheeks?
my daughter has been very tired and has developed abcess type sores on her throat and cheeks. she does not have her tonsils and has not had any fever. this has been going on for 5 days and she has had antibiotics for three. only getting worse not better.
A throat abscess is a pus-filled pocket of tissue that forms in the back of the throat, near a tonsil. It is usually a complication of strep throat. The best treatment for a throat abscess is with antibiotics.
I see through the query that you have already taken the antibiotic so I suggest to continue the treatment. Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest gargling with salty water.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
