Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your query, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.
1)First of all do not panic.
2)I will suggest you toget USG done to find out cause of irregular cycles. Considering your history of weight gain that too around the tummy area, PCOS needs to be ruled out.
3) Also, please get blood reports done for hemogram, urine routine. This will explain if you need to take iron tablets in future.
As such taking iron tablets should have no role in regulating your periods.
4)Please do not worry about yourmasturbation habit. It is a safe and natural way to release your
sexual tension. It has no effect on the regularity of your menstrual cycle. Cycles are regulated by ovarian hormones.
I will suggest you to masturbate only when you are sexually aroused. Please do not over indulge into it to make it a habit or addiction.
5) In my opinion; considering
irregular periods and central weight gain,
- I will suggest indulging in a healthy diet and regular exercise regime.
Include plenty of fruits, salads, vegetables in the diet.
Have adequate water intake , say 8 – 10 glasses per day.
Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products, and refined sugars.
Avoid
substance abuse, if any.
Start on
FOLIC ACID, B12 supplements.
6) If you are not sexually active, or if you are seually active an have ruled out pregnancy by urine pregnancy test;then you can induce the periods with Tab
Regestrone 5mg 3 times a day for 5 days. Usually periods start after 3 to 10 days of finishing the tablets.
If you have PCOS confirmed on USg I will suggest Tab
Krimson 35 once at night , 21 days on tablets and 7 days off tablets. You can go ahead with 6 such cycles. This will help you to regularize the periods, lower the effects of PCOS and offer
contraceptive effect if needed.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
Wish you great health.
