What Causes Absence Of Periods When On Folic Acid?

I have been taking folic acid for the last 2 moths.Since then i haven t have periods.But my menstration was quite normal before that.Moreover,for the last 2 weeks i have slight brownish stain and my pregnancy test negative.what causes the delayed period.

Hi, I have gone through your question. Folic acid does not cause any alteration in the periods. In my opinion, you must be pregnant. It might be a delayed conception, hence the urine pregnancy test was negative. I would suggest you to repeat your urine pregnancy test after one week. The brown spotting you are getting may be due to some small bleed in the uterus or due to miscarriage, so you need to get it confirmed by ultrasound.
