Hi, I have gone through your question. Absent umbilical artery in the fetus can be present in chromosomal anomaly, can be associated with other congenital anomalies and is associated with fetal growth restriction and sudden intrauterine death.
Low diastolic flow in the umbilical artery of the fetus means that the fetus is getting less blood supply and is growth restricted, can lead to sudden intrauterine death.
Since your cousin has a history of 2 first trimester miscarriages and one fetus with trisomy, which is a chromosomal anomaly; and this fetus has single umbilical artery and early growth restriction, I would suggest you to consult a fetal medicine specialist so that a detailed anomaly ultrasound can be done and amniocentesis can be done to assess the chromosomal analysis of the fetus. Your cousin and her partner should also get their chromosomal analysis done. Further management has to be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
