What Causes Acid Indegestion When On Zoloft After Stopping Cimetiine?
Hello, My doctor recently prescribed me Cimetiine 600 mg twice daily. I stopped taking the medication after about a month and he put me on Zoloft 25mg one daily. It has been six days since I have been off my Cimetidine but I am having acid indigestion. I read that it is not safe to take these two medications together. Advice please?
I have gone through your query. Cimetidine is usually given for erosive Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD), ulcer, Heartburn. Zoloft contains Sertraline which is given for anxiety disorders, OCD, depression. Anxiety or stress sometimes causes stress ulcers. This is why your doctor has advised you zoloft. Since you are having Acidity and indigestion, You can start PPI like Pantoprazole which is considered safe with zoloft. Avoid spicy and junk food too.
