What Causes Acidity, Inflammation In The Throat And Mild Fever?

My neice is 22. Has Vocal Chord Dysfunction, Severe Acid Reflux, night sweats and low grade fever. Several months ago she had Mono. Got better then got the flu. Got better and now has acid shootibng up into her throat and nose, inflamed tonsils from it and night sweats and low grade fever. Not sure what is causing this?
