What Causes Acnes Spots On Face And Neck In A New Born?
Hi doctor , my baby girl is now 10 months old and her skin is very sensitive since birth.she had baby acne on her face which subsided with time but now her arms cheeks and a big patch of these acne spots on her upper back is there since a month now.i started with homeopathy but can hardly see any result.i don t want to use steroid creams/ shez too small.some1 suggested me to use atonide gel.the patch at her back is increasing each day.its light pink in colour and her cheeks are tomato red because if the rash .pls suggest remedy urgently .regards
I suggest a possibility of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is very common in infants and can present as dry, red/ pink, rough patches on skin. There might be a few acneform eruptions present in seborrheic dermatitis too. Face, specially cheeks as well as other body areas like torso and arms may be involved with these dry, red, slightly scaly and rough patches. Mild to moderately potent topical steroids e.g topical desonide 0.1% cream Or fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream are treatments of choice for seborrheic dermatitis affecting face. Don't use steroids on someone's suggestion. I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as for the needful.
Regards
