What Causes Acute Duodenal Ulcer In The Abdomen?

hello doctor My brother had undergone endoscopy 1yr back and was diagnosed as acute duodenal ulcer and after medication and recent endoscopy showing healed ulcer and still on medicine with esomeprazole 40mg od and recently asked to take lesuride tab for 2 months.should he continue esomeprazole throughout life .please suggest .

Duodenal ulcer most commonly H.pylori infection may cause this problem.

Excessive alcohol drinking may cause ulcer.
More tobacco chewing and smoking is also risk factor.

Some radiation therapy may lead to ulcer.
Stressful condition may cause ulcer problem.

If you don't treat the ulcer it may cause perforation also.

Avoid spicy foods and alcohol drinking.
Drink more water.
